As you’ll probably already know, my name’s Jack Brockley (I’m also known as Broxter – it’s my online alias, nothing special). I’m 17 years old and live in the North West of England in a city called Stoke-on-Trent. I currently attend Newcastle-under-Lyme Sixth Form Centre, where I’m studying A-Levels in maths, further maths, English language, physics and computing. My career aspirations involve programming, or at least, something highly computational.

I’m an avid user of a program named Game Maker and most of my time spent online relates to this. It’s a brilliant program built to make developing great PC games very simple, yet it’s extremely extensible too. I’ve created quite a few games with it since I found out about it in February 2006 and it’s now in it’s eighth version. However, just recently, I’ve shifted to Flash via the new FlashPunk ActionScript library created by Chevy Ray Johnston. But I’m still heavily involved in the Game Maker community.

For a short while I was a contributor to the Game Maker Technology magazine, which (as the name suggests) was a magazine based around Game Maker. Unfortunately, the magazine is now pretty much dead, although I enjoyed writing the reviews I did. You should download some of the back issues; they’re a really interesting read, especially for any GM fans.

As well as making games, I play games. It’s a fun thing to do (especially on my PS3) – check out my Portable ID, here. I think I’d say my favourite console game genre is racing, while my handheld game genre of choice would probably be platformers. Yeah… weird.
